| Charles Hatt | Program Manager, Policy and Research, Environment and Climate Division | City of Toronto | Charles has been leading climate governance files for the City of Toronto since 2021. Working closely with the Financial Planning Division, he delivered a comprehensive report on Carbon Accountability to the City Council in 2023 that included a new chapter to Toronto’s Municipal Code setting out in law the basis for a Carbon Budget process. He leads a team within the Environment & Climate Division that is now providing subject matter support for implementation of the Carbon Budget process, alongside Financial Planning.
Prior to working with the City of Toronto Charles practiced law for eight years in the fields public interest environmental law organization and plaintiff-side class actions. He represented clients in litigation and law reform on various climate-related issues. | CharlesHatt.jpg |
