| Tara Baker | Treasurer, GM Finance | City of Guelph | Tara is the City Treasurer and General Manager of Finance at the City of Guelph, and has been with the City for 13 years, moving progressively through to her current role which she’s been in since 2016. In 2023, she was the recipient of the MFOA’s Leadership Award, being recognized for her contributions to municipal financial leadership both locally and in the sector more broadly.
Tara is a member of the ONE Investment Peer Advisory Committee, was a member of the GFOA Rethinking Budgeting project team from 2020 to 2023 and has participated in various provincial- municipal technical working groups for development financing. As a strategic financial leader, Tara believes that elevating financial communication and embracing digital transformation are a priority, all with a continuous improvement mindset where perfection doesn’t limit progress. | |
