Preparing Effective Audit Working Papers
This workshop is specifically designed to train municipal staff in preparing effective working papers for the annual audit in a way that minimizes their time and effort, while providing the auditors with exactly what is needed to perform their audit effectively. In addition, recent changes in PSAB will be discussed including the impact the standards have on working paper preparation.
What You will Learn:
The purpose and benefits of an audit and your role in the audit
Components of an audit and identifying errors in financial statements
How to identify suitable and reliable working papers for assets and liabilities
How to identify suitable and reliable working papers for revenues and expenditures
Audit time savers
PSAB update and audit impact
Tool Kit:
These topics will be presented in a one day session utilizing a mix of presentation and group discussion.

Local government staff that are responsible for, or participate in the preparation of audit working papers.
