New ARB Rules of Practice & Procedure: What You Need To Know
What Municipalities Need to Know! At the beginning of April, the Assessment Review Board (ARB) introduced new Rules of Practice and Procedure, which ushered in significant changes to how municipalities will participate in property tax assessment appeals in the future. The new rules are in place now, and in order to comply, there are a number of major changes that municipalities must consider in the coming months.

About your Webinar Leaders:
Tony Haddad – CAO, Town of Tecumseh
Tony will host this session on behalf of the Ontario Municipal Administrators’ Association (OMAA). Tony is the CAO of the Town of Tecumseh, a former municipal finance official, an OMAA director and past president of AMCTO. He will be joined by Grace Marsh, Parliamentarian of the Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association (OMTRA), who will provide context about the rule changes and their impact for the municipal organization.
Grace Marsh - Supervisor, Property Tax & Assessment, Town of Newmarket
Grace has been in the property tax and assessment field since 1990, starting with the Town of Aurora and then the City of Vaughan managing the property tax & assessment department. After 15+ years in the municipal sector Grace moved over to the private sector and spent 8 years with an international property tax consulting firm at a senior level. During that time Grace was elected to the Town of Aurora Municipal Council. More recently Grace spent 2 years as a consultant to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) working primarily with senior MPAC staff and the Ministry of Finance on the Special Purpose Business Property Assessment Review and then a little over a year ago, returned to her roots with the Town of Newmarket. Grace holds a Certified Municipal Tax Professional (CMTC) and a Certified Municipal Manager Level III (CMMIII) designation and is a Licenced Paralegal with Law Society of Upper Canada.
